I am from south asia, and I am a Muslim. I saw this movie (You wont believe how much trouble I had to go through to see the movie in this region). Thank you Hellchic for your review.
I agree with you whole heartedly that during the movie, Moore went offtrack on his points in many cases. But over all I agree with you that the movie did fine in raising some tough questions that needed to be explained.
In our part of the world, US election means sometimes more than our own democratic elections. And believe me, through propaganda or not, Bush is not wanted for another term.

I'm a big fan of those kinds of indie-small cinema movies, although I hardly ever get a chance to see them since the closest one I'm aware of is in Providence. Which seems off since its only about a 20 minute drive. Even still, I lvoed Lost in Translation. And I think its ironic how the original Farenheit movie was about a controlling government opposed to books which took part in bookburning and thought of television as family. Odd. Anywho. I'll check back here more often, I like reading your writing. :)

glad you posted; i still can't seem to get myself out to see Spiderman II, much less this thinker. But you were bugged by "War is bad, m'kay?" and I think Moore is justified spending that much time, at least insofar as you've dscribed. Cuz, you know, *not* everyone knows that.

Very much looking forward to seeing this movie. I don't agree with many of Moore's tactics and see through the majority of his propaganda, but I think he has very interesting ideas and raises many valid questions.
Great post, Caryn! Now I want to see it even more!
